HELPY GROUP SRL, headquartered at Via Chiesino di Valle, n.34 – 56010 Vicopisano (PI), Italy, VAT/Tax Code 02424440507, e-mail: [email protected], as the Data Controller, provides this information notice pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

2. Type of Data Collected

The Equine Formulary app has been specifically designed to minimize the processing of user data and to avoid the storage of personal or sensitive information whenever possible.

The app does not require any registration process, account creation, login credentials, or user profiling systems in order to access its core functionalities. Consequently, the Controller does not intentionally collect or store personal data capable of directly identifying users, except for limited technical information strictly necessary for the operation and security of the application.

During the use of the app, the following categories of data may be processed:

  • Technical and usage data: technical logs, IP addresses, device type, operating system, anonymous and aggregated usage statistics necessary for app functionality, stability, and security.
  • In-app purchase data: limited exclusively to receipts and transaction identifiers managed directly by Apple and Google. No payment details, credit card data, or banking information are processed or stored by the Controller.
  • Communications: data voluntarily provided by users when contacting the Controller via e-mail.

No sensitive data, health-related personal data, profiling data, behavioral tracking data, marketing databases, or advertising-related user profiles are collected, processed, sold, or stored by the Controller.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

Any limited data processing activities are carried out exclusively for the following purposes:

  • to ensure access to and proper technical functioning of the app (legal basis: legitimate interest and performance of the service);
  • to manage technical support requests and communications voluntarily initiated by users (legal basis: performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures);
  • to comply with legal obligations or requests from competent authorities (legal basis: legal obligation);
  • to generate anonymous and aggregated technical statistics relating to app performance and stability (legal basis: legitimate interest of the Controller).

The app is not designed or used for:

  • user profiling,
  • behavioral analysis,
  • targeted advertising,
  • commercial marketing activities,
  • automated decision-making processes,
  • sale or sharing of user data with third parties for promotional purposes.

4. Processing Methods

Data are processed electronically using appropriate technical and organizational security measures, in compliance with the principles of fairness, lawfulness, transparency, data minimization, and proportionality as required by the GDPR.

Given the architecture and intended purpose of the app, the Controller has adopted a privacy-oriented approach specifically aimed at minimizing the collection and storage of user-related information.

No automated decision-making processes, profiling activities, or invasive tracking systems are carried out.

5. Data Communication and Transfer

Data may be communicated to:

  • IT and hosting service providers,
  • Apple and Google, in relation to in-app purchases,
  • competent authorities, where required by law.

No personal data transfers are foreseen outside the European Union to countries that are not covered by an EU adequacy decision.

6. Data Retention

Data processed in connection with purchases or usage via digital stores are retained by Apple and Google in accordance with the law and/or their respective data retention policies.

7. Data Subject Rights

As the app is specifically designed not to store detailed personal information relating to users, the Controller does not maintain databases containing sensitive personal data, profiling information, or detailed behavioral records.

Nevertheless, users may exercise their rights under Articles 15–22 GDPR, where applicable, including the right to:

  • request access to any personal data that may have been processed;
  • request rectification or deletion of data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing on legitimate grounds;
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Any request may be submitted to [email protected].

Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali) at www.garanteprivacy.it.

8. Minors

The app is primarily intended for adults (particularly veterinary professionals and university students of legal age). That said, there are no explicit restrictions for any age group or user category for purely consultative purposes.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

The Controller reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. In the event of substantial changes, users will be informed via in-app notifications.
